Unless you’ve been under a rock, you may have noticed Chicago is in the midst of a Hip-Hop renaissance with artists like King L, LEP Bogus Boys and Chief Keef growing from local talents to national recognition. Well, there is one more name to add to the list of newcomers celebrating the depth and diversity of Chicago’s hip-hop artists: His name is ClarkAirLines. His first solo mixtape, Between The Lines, was released in March 2012, since then ClarkAirLines has been featured on BET’s The Game on The Fader, Hip Hop DX, Hip Hop Wired and many more. Last month, he landed at #7 on FakeShoreDrive’s “The Top 10 Chicago Mixtapes Of 2012 (So Far)” list and has gained a lot of notoriety for his crazy, self directed, conceptual music videos (“Watching Me, “Sippin While Whippin”, “Rebel Canon”) Since the release of his first project, Clark Airlines has continued to gain momentum with innovative self-directed and produced videos helping to transform the former Art Institue of Chicago student, into one of the Chi’s breakout newcomers. His newest project entitled “AIRPLAY” (exclusively on LiveMixtapes) the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut “Between the Lines”, features all new music from TCUIMG members Nigerian Goozy, Cash Jones, Maserati Deeder, and Cha’s. With clever wordplay and lyrical abilities beyondhis years, Clark Airlines is a name you should get used to! Keep your eyes peeled on Clark Airlines.
