These past two months have been two of the most exciting months of the year for Iamsu!, impressive considering that the first 10 months saw Su! collaborating with and producing for the likes of Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, E-40, Problem, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, not to mention being hailed by SPIN as one the best rising artists of the year. Then, on November 10th, Iamsu! released his $uzy 6 $peed mixtape, a collection of songs that featured not only Wiz Khalifa but alsoJuvenile, and others, and was instantly hailed as one of the finest mixtape releases of the year, including being named as Stereogum’s Mixtape Of The Week.
Since then, Iamsu! has been on a tear; he celebrated the mixtape release with two in-store events – one in LA, the other in SF – both with clothing brand Pink Dolphin, which co-presented the mixtape and released a limited edition $uzy 6 $peed t-shirt and hoodie. The events were an overwhelming success, lines stretching down the block as swarms of fans lined up to meet Iamsu!, and just this past weekend, Su! brought those same block-long lines back to SF, and also to Sacramento, with two sold-out headline performances.
In this video, recapping Iamsu!’s sold-out performance at 330 Ritch in San Francisco, viewers can see not only the long lines outside the venue, but also the excitement in the venue, as Su! ran through a string of $uzy 6 $peed fan-favorites, including lead single “Mobbin,” the Wiz Khalifa-featuring “Goin Up,” and more, before closing with an encore of “100 Grand,” a song that features Juvenile and fellow HBK Gang member Kool John.
