It’s been a long time coming, but Ft. Lauderdale emcee Trav Williams is ready to make a comeback. First heard in 2008 with his debut project, The Trickle Down, Trav became a fav here at KN… so much, in fact, that we invited him to record to our Illmatic remix project and dub it IllTravis in 2009. Four years and a few mixtapes later, Trav Williams is gearing up to drop P.O.E. (Preponderance of the Evidence). Similar to IllTravis, P.O.E. is a flip on a classic 90s album — Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt.
Production is provided by Skidmatik, Keenan, and Trav’s long time partner in rhyme, Pee Duble. This blend of production styles allows Trav to reintroduce himself as a dope emcee/storyteller, and demand the respect that he has garnered with previous projects. P.O.E. is proof that Trav belongs in the conversation as one of the dopest “unheard” emcees in the the game. If you didn’t believe it after The Trickle Down or IllTravis, then May 7th will serve as Trav’s Easter. You will believe!
